Nathan Sandbothe

Associate
hola yo tambien hablo español

After graduating from Drake Law School in May 2022, Nathan started working as an associate attorney at Parrish in the fall of 2022. Nathan clerked at Parrish while he was in law school and was a natural fit to rejoin the firm after graduating and passing the Iowa Bar. A fluent Spanish speaker, Nathan’s primary practice areas include immigration, criminal, post-conviction relief, and family law. Nathan is a Des Moines native and is active in the local community.

Although Nathan is a new attorney, he already has considerable experience in several key areas of law. Along with the significant experience he gained in criminal law while clerking at Parrish during law school, he also had the good fortune of working as a student-attorney at the Drake Legal Clinic. He spent a year at the Drake Refugee Clinic, where he worked primarily on asylum cases, as well as other miscellaneous aspects of immigration. He spent another year in the Drake Wrongful Convictions Clinic, where he worked on post-conviction relief and habeas petitions for incarcerated individuals.

Nathan brings a personable, caring approach to legal representation and has formed strong bonds with all of his previous clients. Nathan treats every client as if they are his only client and is accessible and responsive in his communications.

Nathan is active in the Des Moines community and still volunteers his time with the Drake Legal Clinic. Additionally, Nathan volunteers with the Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice, a local immigration non-profit. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys reading, playing soccer, and spending time with his partner Lindsay and their dog Clark.
