Natalie Shroyer

Associate

Originally from southern Minnesota, Natalie earned her undergraduate degree from Wartburg College, where she majored in sociology and minored in psychology and political science.  At Wartburg, she served on the student senate political action committee and played the saxophone in the wind ensemble.  She received an Outstanding Senior Award from the college’s department of social sciences for her academic achievements and graduated summa cum laude in the spring of 2021.

Natalie’s passion for civil rights and social justice led her to pursue a career in the law.  Starting in the fall of 2021, she attended Drake University Law School as an Iowa State Supreme Court Scholar.  During law school, she interned at the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, the Des Moines Juvenile Public Defender’s Office, and the Iowa Court of Appeals.  Additionally, she spent a semester working as a student attorney in the Drake Criminal Defense Clinic, where she represented clients charged with a range of serious and aggravated misdemeanors.  She also worked as a law clerk at a Des Moines firm specializing in criminal defense, immigration law, and civil litigation.  She earned her J.D. with high honors and a certificate in public service in the spring of 2024.

Before joining the firm, Natalie gained invaluable experience during her year as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge Mary Tabor of the Iowa Court of Appeals.  In that role, she conducted extensive legal research, drafted and edited appellate court opinions, and bailiffed during oral arguments.

These opportunities have given Natalie experience in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, personal injury, immigration, and appellate law.

Natalie lives in the Des Moines metro with her partner and their cat.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching documentaries, listening to music, spending time with family, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones.
